Alexander James was born to Alexander and Alice in 1948. Alexander was affectionately known as “Chick” to family and friends in the Amsterdam Projects where he grew up. He was kind, charismatic and very popular. He had a love of life, family, music and basketball. He is survived by his adoring wife, Victoria, daughter Darlene, son Elgin, daughter-in-law Marisa, brother Bruce and sister-in-law Ruthie. He also leaves behind grandchildren Dayvon, Elgin, and Amar’e; great-grandchildren Shaniya, Jaya and Roman along with nieces Vernetta, Shante, grand-nieces Destiny and Tamia, grand-nephews Glen and Elijah, cousins Rita, Terri, Kamau and host of other loving relatives.
