With heavy hearts and enduring love, we celebrate the life of Daniel Tyrone Burke, who transitioned from this life on Sunday, August 24, 2025, at the age of 39. Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Daniel was a radiant soul whose kindness, creativity, and love touched countless lives.
Daniel was educated in the Brooklyn public school system, where his warm spirit and generous heart quickly became known to teachers and peers alike. He had an effortless way of making people feel seen, valued, and heard. He never met a stranger, only friends he hadn’t spoken to yet.
After high school, Daniel followed his artistic calling and honed his craft at the Brooklyn Art Institute. A true Master of Design, Daniel was a gifted tattoo artist, airbrush expert, and freehand painter. His work was more than art, it was storytelling, therapy, and celebration. He became widely
sought after for his creativity and depth of vision, leaving behind a legacy on the skin, walls, and hearts of those he worked with.
Yet, as passionate as he was about art, Daniel’s greatest masterpiece was being a father. His children, Dae’cion and Nyaleyah, were the center of his world. He poured his heart into fatherhood with unmatched love, presence, and pride. Whether it was movie nights, shopping trips, or fine dining adventures, Daniel made everyday moments into cherished memories. He was a protector, a guide, and a joyful companion to his children in which they were his greatest joy.
Daniel’s vibrant presence will be deeply missed and forever remembered. He is survived by his loving parents; his beloved children, Dae’cion Burke and Nyaleyah Burke; and his siblings: Eric Carter, Breanna Burke, Alexis Burke, Xavier Burke, Amanda Long, Daniel Long, and Traci Long.
He also leaves behind his devoted cousins: Micheal Prince, Mark Hinton, David Sampson, Desmond Sampson, Katrina Deveaux, and DeAndrea Deveaux; his special aunts: Leteria Hinton and Bola Ogundele; and a host of extended family and lifelong friends who were like family.
Daniel was preceded in death by his beloved grandmother, Essie Mae Burke, and cherished aunts, Juanita Deveaux and Deborah Deveaux.
