David Molina Obituary

Thank you for joining us in celebrating and honoring the life of a beloved father, husband, brother, uncle, friend, mentor, teacher, sports fanatic, and human being.

After a seven year battle with Stage IV Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer, David “Son of God” Molina transitioned onto heaven peacefully,  joining his father Jose Antonio Molina, his mother-in-law Rosa Del Valle, his brothers Jose Jr.; Mickey; and Jimmy; and his sister Sandra, alongside his brother-in-law Jerry Pallet, his cousin Gladys Kelly, his sister-in-law Eloilda Padilla and other late ancestors on, March 14th 2021 in Calvary Hospital, Bronx, NY.

He was born on March 19th 1968 in the South Bronx, the youngest in a family of seven. He met his survived wife, Veronica Lopategui Molina in 1986 at a local McDonald’s by the Bruckner Boulevard in The Bronx. They married in 1991 and had two adored daughters in 1993 and 2004. David is survived by these two daughters, Alyssa and Angelina, as well as his sisters Rosa Yuret, and Cynthia Molina. He is also survived by his mother, Petra Molina, and his sisters-in-law Catherine Denisac and Rosita Gonzalez.

David has been a family man his entire life. Before he had children, he began assuming the role as a father figure to over 20 nieces and nephews, and he even held his grandnieces and nephews very close to his heart until his last breath. Having two daughters made David a sensitive, passionate man who did anything to ensure that he made his girls happy, and provided them a life that he never had a chance to live. He always taught them the importance of education, of pursuing their dreams, and of always putting family first, no matter what.

He had a successful career as a teacher and mentor for over 15 years, where he then pursued a higher education in Criminal Justice and then put his education on hold to work as a Porter for Related Management for another 15 years. No matter where he was or what he did, David put 110% of his hard work and effort into what he did, and this was reflected in the life he was able to provide for himself and his family.

“I wanted to be like him…that was the impression he put onto all of us,” Steven Molina, one of David’s dearest nephews and Godfather to his youngest daughter, Angie, stated. The impression he made on hundreds of lives, near or far, is something we will never forget. We love you with everything in us, dad. You are more than just a father and a family man. You are an inspiration to many and your love will live on in the hearts of every life you’ve touched forever.

May God bless your soul for eternity.

You can run, jump, dance, and breathe again!

Warmly,

Alyssa Molina
