Diana (Morciglio) Lopez

Diana Morciglio-Lopez born on August 7^th of 1960, was the daughter of the late Emily Gonzalez and Julio Morciglio, and was the older sister of the late Joseph Morciglio. She departed this earth on December 20^th 2022, at the young age of 62 years old.

She is survived by her husband, Samuel Velez Lopez, and her children: Samantha Lopez of Pottstown, PA, and Matthew Lopez of New York, NY; as well as bunches upon bunches of beloved extended family.

Diana was a scholar before all. She was a graduate of Saint Jean Baptiste high school and the College of Staten Island. After earning her Bachelor of Science from C.S.I., she continued to have a booming career as an Eligibility Specialist and Supervisor of Eligibility for the city of New York’s Human Resource Administration. She absolutely loved her job and the impact that she was able to make in the field of social work.

Upon having two children and marrying her husband, Samuel Lopez, her health began to turn after years of issues surrounding complications with diabetes and cancer. We are thankful for Diana for continuing to fight until the end, even with all her challenges that she faced the last 30 years of life. As a woman of faith, Diana wished to have her life celebrated, and we believe that she is in a more peaceful, pain-free place. She would love to be remembered as the strong, caring, bright and fearless woman that she was.
