Glen Kevin Vargas Aponte
November 30, 1972 – November 8, 2025
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Glen Kevin Vargas Aponte, a beloved father, son, brother, and friend. Glen passed away on November 8, 2025, at Bellevue Hospital in New York City.
Born in Ponce, Puerto Rico, on November 30, 1972, and raised in New York City, Glen carried both his Puerto Rican heritage and his city upbringing with pride. His life brought him through many experiences, and those who knew him understood the depth behind his quiet moments and the strength that shaped him.
Glen had a thoughtful nature and a talent for expressing himself through writing. He often turned to poetry, using his words to reflect on life, family, and the world around him. His writing showed honesty, clarity, and insight, and it remained one of the ways he connected with others. To many, he was affectionately known as “Spanky,” a nickname that stayed with him throughout the years.
Glen is survived by his daughter, Glenda N. Vargas; his siblings Giovanni Vargas, Joey Vargas, Hector Ramos Jr., Anthony Ramos, Christian Ramos, and Crystal Vargas; his stepsister, Michelle Ramos; his father, Glen K. Vargas; his late mother, Judith Ramos; and his step-parents, Hector Ramos and Maribel Vargas.
His presence will be deeply missed, and his memory will forever remain with those who knew and loved him.
