Karen was born on December 10, 1956 in New York City to her parents Ella E. Carter and Kenneth Carter. On March 7, 1975, she married Raymond Roman and during their marriage they raised two daughters, Tema Roman and Victoria Glenn.
Throughout the years, she worked for the Department of Education as a School Crossing Guard and Dietary Aide, and at Metropolitan and Lincoln Hospitals as an Institutional Aide and Supervisor. Karen was always a dedicated hard-working woman and was well-liked by many. Some of her co-workers became her closest friends.
Her hobbies included, playing paddleball, sunbathing, cookouts, going to City Island, sitting on her comfy couch watching Netflix and scrolling Facebook and Instagram. She always made sure she had her hair and nails done. She enjoyed the company of friends and family and Girl’s Night Out. Her favorite musician growing up was Michael Jackson.
Karen is survived by her daughters, Tema and Victoria, grandchildren, Quintay, Sanaa and Jermaine Jr., her sister Deborah McDade, brother John Paniaqua, nieces, nephews and Tons of Friends! She was truly loved and will be greatly missed by all!
